What’s the cost for me as a freelancer?
Joining Helios as an expert is free. Helios may assess fees including platform fees, commissions, subscription fees, and transaction fees on applicable engagements. You set your own service prices, and platform fees are applied at checkout. Helios will give at least 30 days' prior notice of fee changes affecting existing listings or active subscriptions. Current fee rates are published at helios.supplies/pricing.
Can I have hourly and fixed-price contracts?
Yes. Helios supports multiple contract structures. Payment amounts may be based on fixed pricing, hourly or project-based rates, milestone or deliverable-based agreements, or adjustments due to scope changes. You can offer fixed-price gigs, hourly consulting, milestone-based projects, or quick tasks — whatever best fits your work. By proceeding with a transaction, you agree to the pricing structure presented at checkout or as otherwise agreed within the platform.
Can I have hourly and fixed-price contracts?

How does payment work?
Helios uses third-party payment processors, including Stripe, to facilitate payments on the platform. To receive payouts, Providers must create and verify a payout account with a designated Payment Processor. Payments may be one-time, milestone-based, recurring, or usage-based — you will be informed of the applicable billing structure at the time of transaction.
What payment protection do I have?
Helios protects experts from bad-faith buyer behavior. Helios may deny refunds or take enforcement action if a buyer shows a pattern of abuse, such as filing three or more refund requests within 90 days, or submits bad-faith claims like falsely claiming non-delivery after confirming receipt. Helios may also place holds or reserves on accounts where risk controls are necessary to protect users and maintain platform integrity. Keeping thorough work documentation is strongly recommended.
How do I file a dispute when things does not go well?
Contact Helios support at Support@helios.supplies with full documentation of the issue. Reports should include account details, listing links, screenshots, communications, dates, and transaction context. Helios will make administrative determinations based on fairness, evidence of performance, and transaction integrity. Any Helios decision is an administrative determination — users retain the right to seek resolution through applicable legal channels regardless of the outcome.
If needed, am I able to issue my client a refund?
Yes. Providers are responsible for refunds arising from non-performance, service failures, defects, or misrepresentations in their listings or offerings. For milestone-based work, completed and accepted milestones may be treated as non-refundable, while unperformed portions may be refundable in whole or in part. Where Helios issues a refund attributable to a provider's conduct, Helios may recover the amount through payout deductions or reserves.
How do I file U.S. tax with my earnings?
Users are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting taxes arising from their transactions, income, and business activities on the Platform. Helios may collect your tax identification number and share it with payment processors and tax authorities to meet its legal obligations. Helios does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice. Consult a qualified tax professional for guidance specific to your situation.
Do I have to pay sales tax for my work?
Sales tax obligations vary by jurisdiction and are your responsibility to determine. Users are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting all applicable taxes from their transactions and business activities, except where Helios is expressly required by law to collect or remit taxes. Rules differ by state and service type. Helios does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice — consult a qualified tax advisor.
