(ALI) is a nationally accredited standards developer also accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Accreditation Federation (IAF) as a Product Certification Organization. ALI’s Mission: Promoting the safe design, construction, installation, inspection, service, and use of automotive lifts. Company Overview: The Automotive Lift Institute, Inc. (ALI) was founded in 1945 as the trade association of U.S. manufacturers of in-ground lifts. By 1988 ALI welcomed members from Canada as well as North American based marketers of automotive lifts produced and distributed globally.
Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) is the national trade association of the U.S. metal can manufacturing industry and its suppliers. U.S. metal can manufacturers account for the annual domestic production of approximately 142 billion food, beverage, aerosol, and general line cans; employ more than 20,000 people with facilities in 32 states; and generate about $27.5 billion in direct economic activity.
CMAA is the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Inc., an independent trade association affiliated with the Material Handling Industry. CMAA traces its roots to the Electric Overhead Crane Institute, known as EOCI, which was founded in 1927 by leading crane manufacturers of that time to promote the standardization of cranes as well as uniform quality and performance. The voluntary association was incorporated as the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Inc. in 1955. Member Companies, representing the industry leaders in the overhead crane industry, serve the United States market from operations based in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Hand Tools Institute, founded in 1935, is the trade association of North American manufacturers of non-powered hand tools and toolboxes. The objectives of the Institute are to promote and further the interests of its members relative to manufacturing, safety standardization, international trade and government relations. The Institute prepares and disseminates educational materials, conducts market surveys, identifies legal, legislative, regulatory and economic trends affecting the industry. HTI actively seeks to promote good relations and cooperation with other associations, the American National Standards Institute, the National Safety Council and government agencies and legislatures. An important objective of the Institute is to educate the hand tool user on the safe and proper use of hand tools.

Formed in 1988 through the merger of the Metal Cutting Tool Institute and the Cutting Tool Manufacturers’ Association, the United States Cutting Tool Institute (USCTI) represents a majority of the domestic cutting tool market. USCTI works to represent, promote, and expand the U.S. cutting tool industry while highlighting the benefits of buying American-made cutting tools manufactured by its members. The Institute also collaborates with prominent cutting tool and machine tool trade publications to expand awareness of its activities and gain wider recognition for members and their products, strengthening both individual businesses and the industry as a whole.
