Overview
What Is Gig Postings?
Gig Postings is Helios's project-based hiring board. Post a custom Gig when your needs are unique or complex — define the project, set your goals, and receive tailored proposals from qualified experts ready to execute. Unlike Services (which are expert-defined packages you browse and request), Gig Postings let you set the requirements and invite the market to respond.

Understanding the Page Layout
Gig Postings is accessed via Hire Help → Gig Postings in the left navigation. Your posted gigs appear as a card grid. Each card shows: status badge (Posted/Hiring/Offering/Contracted), cover image, title, category, description excerpt, application count, and compensation. A Create Gig button appears in the top-right. Clicking any card opens the gig detail with tabs: Posting, Applications, Contract, Invoices & Payment, Messaging, and History.
Gig Card Status Badges
- Posted - Your gig is live and accepting applications.
- Hiring - You are actively reviewing and selecting a candidate.
- Offering - An offer has been made to a selected expert.
- Contracted - The engagement is underway.
How to Create a Gig Posting
- Click Create Gig in the top-right of the Gig Postings page.
- Upload a cover image for your posting.
- Fill in the Title and select the appropriate Category for your project.
- Set the Payment Type (Fixed Price or Hourly Rate) and enter the Amount.
- Select the Work Site (Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid) and Work Authorization requirements.
- If On-Site, enter the Address of the work location.
- Write a clear Description summarizing the project and its goals. This is the first thing experts read. Clarity here directly affects the quality of applications you receive.
- In the Details section, provide:
- Scope & Requirements - specific tasks and deliverables you expect.
- Timeline & Priority - key milestones and due dates.
- Potential Risks & Assumptions - known constraints or dependencies.
- Preferred Experience & Skills - qualifications you are looking for.
- Review all information, then click Post Gig to make the gig live.
- Your posting appears on the board with a Posted status badge. Use Share Gig to send the link directly to experts you want to invite.
How to Manage Applications
- Open your active gig from the Gig Postings page.
- Click the Applications tab to see all submitted applicants, their profiles, and proposal details.
- Use the Messaging tab or Message Hub to communicate with applicants before selecting.
- Review each application, then move the selected candidate through the status pipeline: Posted → Hiring → Offering → Contracted.
- Use the Share Gig button to invite additional experts if needed.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Gig Postings
- Write a clear, specific title and category. Experts browse by category and a well-labeled posting attracts more relevant applications.
- Review Service Offering from experts before posting your own. An expert may have already packaged exactly the engagement you need at a set price.
- Monitor the applications count badge on your posted gigs from the main listing page so you can tell at a glance which postings have attracted interest.
