Overview
The Experts section is a searchable marketplace for finding and engaging manufacturing industry specialists. It is accessible from the main sidebar under the Hire Help navigation group.
1. Expert Listing Page (/experts)
Tabs / Views
All Experts — The default view that displays the full directory of available experts on the platform.
Collection (/saved-experts) — A personal saved list of bookmarked experts, allowing users to curate and revisit their shortlisted candidates. From this view, the same filtering, sorting, and layout options are available as in All Experts.
Toolbar Controls
Search — A search bar (keyboard shortcut ⌘K) at the top of the page allows users to type and search for experts by keyword.
Inline Search Icon — A secondary search icon within the listing toolbar also opens the search input.
Filter — Opens a multi-category filter dropdown panel with the following filter dimensions:
- Service Category
- Work Style
- Location
- Work Type Interest
- Skills & Competence
- Softwares
- Machine Brands
- Industries & Market
- Certifications & Standards
A Reset Filters option is available at the bottom of the filter panel to clear all applied filters at once.
Sort — Opens a sort dropdown with the following options:
- Name A–Z
- Name Z–A
- Hourly Rate (highest first)
- Hourly Rate (lowest first)
- Join Date (newest first) (default active)
- Join Date (oldest first)
View Mode Toggle — A three-way radio button group lets users switch between three display layouts:
- Grid View — Shows expert cards in a 3-column grid with banner image, profile photo, name, specialty headline, industry/skill/service counts, hourly rate range, a save/star button, and a "View More" button.
- List View — Displays experts in a compact single-column list with profile photo, name, hourly rate, and tags for industries, skills, and services.
- Map View — A split-screen layout with expert cards on the left panel and an interactive Google Map on the right showing expert locations as pins. Includes an "Items per page" selector (default 50) and a note that exact addresses are hidden for privacy.
Can't Find Expert — A prominent call-to-action button that opens a Helios Support modal. The form allows users to:
- Specify whether they need an Expert or a Service
- Enter a Title (required, up to the field's character limit)
- Enter a Description (required, up to 5,000 characters)
- Upload files that can assist the team (up to 20 files, max 20 MB each, via file picker or drag-and-drop)
- Submit via a Send button, which routes the request to the Helios support team
Expert Cards
Each card in the listing shows:
- Banner image and profile photo
- Name and specialty headline/bio excerpt
- Industry count, Skill count, and Service count badges
- Hourly rate range (highlighted in green)
- Save/Star (bookmark) button — adds or removes the expert from the user's Collection
- View More button — opens the full expert profile in a detail panel
2. Expert Detail Profile
Clicking "View More" on any expert opens a full-width detail panel (or modal) containing the following sections, navigable via a sticky tabbed navigation bar:

Profile Header (Overview)
- Banner image and profile photo
- Name
- Social media links: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter)
- Types of Work I Take On: e.g., Gigs & Contracts, Flexible Engagement
- Hourly Rate Range
- Ways I Work: e.g., Remote, On-Site, Hybrid
- Where I'm Available: "View on Map" button that opens a map view of the expert's general location
- Headline: Expert's self-authored professional tagline
Experience & Skills Section
- Summary & My Story: A narrative bio written by the expert
- Professional Experience: List of past roles with company, title, dates, and bullet-point accomplishments
- Schools / Education: Institution name and degree/major
- Industries I Know: Tag pills showing relevant industry sectors (e.g., Chemical, Food & Beverage, Construction)
- Skills & Competence: A sortable table with columns for Category, Skill, and Maturity level (e.g., "4: Advanced"). A Show All Skills button expands the full skill list.
- Software I Use: Tags showing tools with proficiency level badges (e.g., "3: Proficient")
Certifications I Hold
- Lists professional certifications (e.g., AS9120, ISO 45001, OSHA, OSHA PSM 29 CFR 1910.119)
Work I've Done
- A portfolio gallery of work samples and documents, each with a title and an external link to open/download the file
Helios Services I Offer
- A grid of service cards the expert has listed on the platform, each showing:
- Work mode (Hybrid/On-Site/Remote) and price range
- Service image, title, category, and description excerpt
- Date listed
- A save/star button and a View more link to the full service listing
- A View all link to browse all services offered by the expert
Profile Action Buttons (top-right of detail panel)

Copy Link (chain icon)
Copies a shareable link to the expert's profile to the clipboard; shows a "Copied!" confirmation toast
Message (chat icon)
Opens an inline direct messaging interface to start a conversation with the expert
Save / Bookmark (star icon)
Adds or removes the expert from the user's Collection
Invite to Gig
Opens a modal to invite the expert to an open gig posting. Fields include: Select Gigs (dropdown), Message (up to 1,000 characters), and a Send Invitation button
Summary of Key Features
The Experts section provides a full expert discovery and engagement workflow: users can search, filter by 9 dimensions, sort by 6 criteria, and view results in 3 layout modes (grid, list, map). Expert profiles are rich and structured across 5 content tabs. Users can save experts to a personal Collection, message them directly, share profile links, and invite them to posted gigs. For needs not met by the existing roster, a Helios Support request form provides a concierge-style fallback.
