How Helios Works
Overview
Helios is organized around two primary user types: Businesses and Experts, and three core engagement models: Services, Gigs, and Quick Tasks. Understanding how these fit together is the fastest way to get value from the platform.
The Platform Structure
• Hire Help - Services, Gigs, and Quick Tasks let businesses connect with experts for on-demand manufacturing support
• Build Presence - Business Profiles and Expert Profiles create structured, discoverable identities in the manufacturing ecosystem
• Productivity Tools - Catalogs+, Equipments, Activities, Helios Drive, and Bookmarks digitalize day-to-day operations
• Explore - Business Listings, Expert directories, and Events let you discover and connect across the ecosystem
The Engagement Flow
- A business identifies a need: expertise, a project, or a quick fix.
- They choose the right model: Service (expert-defined), Gig (business-defined), or Quick Task (fast, focused help).
- They connect with the right expert: browse profiles, evaluate experience, and reach out.
- Both parties agree on terms and sign a contract through the platform.
- Work is completed, documented through Work Records, and payment is processed.
Key Terms
• Service - a packaged expert offering with defined scope, deliverables, and pricing
• Gig - a custom project posted by a business for experts to apply to
• Quick Task - a short, focused request for fast-turnaround expert help
• Work Record - a submission by an expert documenting completed work, triggering invoice generation
Frequently Asked Questions
Which engagement model should I use?
Use Services when an expert already offers what you need and the scope is defined. Use Gigs for custom projects where you want competitive proposals. Use Quick Tasks when you need fast, focused help without a full project setup.
