Seller, Expert & Vendor Verification & Eligibility Standard

Seller, Expert & Vendor Verification & Eligibility Standard

Helios may require users to complete identity, business, category, tax, payout, or compliance verification before accessing certain marketplace, transaction, visibility, or payout features. Because Helios supports expert services, manufacturing-related work, vendor participation, project-based engagements, and payment-enabled activity, verification and eligibility review are important tools for protecting users, reducing fraud, supporting lawful activity, and maintaining marketplace trust.

This Seller, Expert & Vendor Verification & Eligibility Standard explains the types of verification Helios may require, the standards users must meet, the factors that may affect eligibility, and the circumstances in which Helios may limit, deny, suspend, or revoke access to seller, expert, vendor, listing, or payout-related functionality.

This Standard applies to any user who seeks to offer services, goods, consulting, training, technical support, gigs, quick tasks, project work, vendor solutions, or other monetized or visibility-sensitive offerings through Helios.

This Standard should be read together with the Helios Terms of Service, Trust & Safety Policy, Marketplace Integrity & Anti-Fraud Policy, Restricted Activities & Prohibited Transactions Policy, Payments, Payouts, Refunds, and Transactions Policy, Seller, Expert, and Vendor Payout Terms, Privacy Policy, and any category-specific onboarding or compliance standards published by Helios.

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Standard is to:

  • support trust in sellers, experts, vendors, and other providers on Helios
  • reduce impersonation, fraud, payment abuse, and deceptive marketplace activity
  • support lawful onboarding and transaction activity
  • enable risk-based access to higher-risk, regulated, or payment-enabled features
  • clarify the information and documentation Helios may require for access or continued eligibility.

2. General Rule

Access to certain Helios features may be conditional and may depend on successful completion of verification, review, and eligibility checks.

Helios may require verification before allowing a user to:

  • publish certain listings or offers
  • receive payouts
  • access seller, expert, or vendor functionality
  • participate in certain regulated or higher-risk categories
  • reach higher transaction thresholds
  • gain premium visibility or priority placement
  • access features involving trust signals, verified badges, or higher-risk workflows

Verification and eligibility are not guaranteed rights. Helios may approve, deny, restrict, condition, suspend, or revoke access in its discretion, subject to applicable law.

3. Types of Verification Helios May Require

Verification may be performed directly by Helios or through third-party providers, including Stripe and related service providers, where payment, payout, connected account, fraud, or compliance-related functionality is involved.

Depending on the user type, feature requested, category involved, geography, transaction volume, or risk profile, Helios may require one or more of the following:

  • identity verification
  • business verification
  • tax verification
  • payout or banking verification
  • beneficial ownership verification
  • representative or controller verification
  • professional qualification or credential verification
  • certification, permit, or license verification
  • insurance confirmation
  • category-specific compliance review
  • quality, sourcing, or traceability documentation
  • export-control, sanctions, or restricted-activity review

Helios may apply different requirements to different users or categories.

4. Information Users May Be Required to Provide

Users may be required to provide information such as:

  • legal name and business name
  • physical address and contact information
  • government-issued identification information
  • date of birth
  • representative and beneficial ownership information
  • business registration details
  • tax identification numbers and tax forms
  • bank account or payout account details
  • proof of authority to act on behalf of a company or organization
  • work history, credentials, certifications, or qualifications
  • copies of licenses, permits, registrations, or insurance
  • category-specific documentation relevant to the goods or services offered

Users must provide information that is complete, accurate, current, and not misleading.

5. Accuracy and Ongoing Duty to Update

Users must ensure that all information submitted to Helios in connection with verification, onboarding, payouts, category access, or eligibility review is true, complete, accurate, current, and non-misleading.

Users must promptly update information if there is any material change, including changes to:

  • legal or business identity
  • beneficial ownership
  • authorized representatives
  • address or contact details
  • banking or payout information
  • tax information
  • licenses, permits, insurance, certifications, or approvals
  • nature of the goods, services, or categories being offered

Failure to keep information current may result in restrictions, payout delays, suspension, or removal of access to certain features.

6. Verification for Payout Access

If Helios uses Stripe Connect or related Stripe services for payout functionality, payout access may depend on successful completion of Stripe-related onboarding, identity verification, business verification, tax verification, and related review requirements.

If a user wishes to receive payouts through Helios, Helios may require identity, business, banking, payout, tax, and related verification before activating payout functionality.

Payout-related verification may be required:

  • before the first payout
  • after threshold amounts are reached
  • when account details change
  • when fraud or compliance signals arise
  • when requested by payment processors, financial institutions, or legal requirements

Helios may delay, restrict, or deny payouts until required verification is completed to Helios’s or its payment providers’ satisfaction.

7. Professional, Technical, and Category-Specific Eligibility

Helios may require additional review for users who seek to offer services, technical work, consulting, training, regulated support, or manufacturing-related activity in categories where experience, qualifications, approvals, or documentation are relevant to trust, safety, or legality.

This may include review of:

  • technical expertise
  • certifications
  • industry qualifications
  • portfolio or work examples
  • proof of business capability
  • quality systems or standards
  • insurance or liability coverage
  • sector-specific approvals
  • regulatory or compliance readiness

Helios may also restrict certain categories to users who satisfy additional requirements.

8. High-Risk and Restricted Categories

Users seeking access to high-risk, restricted, or regulated categories may be subject to enhanced review.

Such categories may include, without limitation:

  • safety-critical manufacturing support
  • aerospace or aviation-related work
  • regulated healthcare or life sciences work
  • export-sensitive or sanctions-sensitive categories
  • traceability-sensitive or certification-sensitive work
  • categories restricted by payment providers or compliance programs
  • categories with elevated fraud, counterfeit, or legal risk

Helios may require category-specific documentation, declarations, explanations, or manual review before allowing access.

9. Factors That May Affect Eligibility

Helios may consider a range of factors when determining whether a user is eligible for seller, expert, vendor, listing, or payout access.

These may include:

  • whether required information has been provided
  • whether the information is accurate, complete, and verifiable
  • whether the user appears to be acting lawfully and in good fith
  • whether the account has a history of suspicious conduct, fraud signals, or repeated policy violations
  • whether the category requested is restricted or higher risk
  • whether there are legal, payment, compliance, export-control, sanctions, safety, or reputational concerns
  • whether the user has cooperated with prior review requests
  • whether Helios or its payment providers can reasonably support the activity requested

Eligibility decisions may change over time as the Platform, user activity, or risk conditions evolve.

10. Grounds for Denial, Restriction, Suspension, or Revocation

Helios may deny, limit, suspend, or revoke eligibility where:

  • required information is not provided
  • submitted information is inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, misleading, or outdated
  • information cannot be verified
  • documents appear altered, forged, suspicious, or unreliable
  • the requested category is prohibited, restricted, or unsupported
  • the user appears to present fraud, payment, legal, export-control, sanctions, privacy, safety, or reputational risk
  • the user fails to cooperate with review requests
  • a payment processor, financial institution, insurer, regulator, or legal authority requires or expects action
  • continued access would expose users or the Platform to unacceptable risk

Helios may take such action with or without prior notice where permitted by law and reasonably necessary under the circumstances.

11. Verified Status, Badges, and Trust Signals

If Helios offers verified badges, trust markers, or related status indicators, those indicators reflect only that Helios has completed certain checks or reviews at a point in time based on information available to it.

Verified status does not mean that Helios:

  • guarantees the quality, legality, or safety of a user’s offerings
  • guarantees future conduct or performance
  • certifies all claims made by a user beyond the scope of the checks performed
  • accepts responsibility for a user’s actions, deliverables, or compliance obligations

Helios may remove verified status or trust markers at any time if circumstances change or risk arises.

12. Re-Verification and Ongoing Monitoring

Helios may require users to complete re-verification or provide updated information at any time.

Re-verification may be triggered by:

  • changes to account details
  • changes to ownership or business structure
  • increased transaction volume
  • payout requests
  • category expansion
  • complaints, disputes, or suspicious activity
  • updated legal or payment-provider requirements
  • platform safety or compliance reviews

Helios may also use ongoing monitoring, review signals, and platform data to reassess eligibility.

13. User Cooperation

Users seeking access to seller, expert, vendor, or payout-related features must cooperate honestly and promptly with legitimate verification and review requests.

This includes responding to requests for:

  • clarification
  • corrected or updated documents
  • supporting records
  • proof of authority or ownership
  • category-specific explanations
  • compliance-related information

Failure to cooperate, or submission of false or misleading information, may itself be treated as a separate policy violation.

14. Temporary Restrictions During Review

While verification or eligibility review is pending, Helios may impose temporary restrictions such as:

  • delaying publication of listings
  • withholding visibility or verified status
  • restricting messaging or offers
  • freezing or delaying payouts
  • limiting transaction functionality
  • limiting category access
  • placing the account in review status

Temporary restrictions do not necessarily mean that Helios has reached a final decision, but they may remain in place until the review is completed.

15. Relationship to Payment Providers and Third Parties

Where Helios uses third-party payment processors, verification providers, fraud prevention tools, or compliance partners, user eligibility may depend in part on those providers’ requirements or review outcomes.

Where Helios uses Stripe or related service providers, user eligibility for certain payment or payout features may depend in part on those providers’ requirements, review outcomes, and compliance obligations.

Helios may share relevant identity, business, tax, payout, and compliance information with such providers as described in applicable Helios policies.

A user may be denied access to certain features if Helios or a relevant provider cannot support the requested activity lawfully or safely.

16. No Guarantee of Access or Continuity

Eligibility for seller, expert, vendor, or payout-related functionality is conditional and may change over time.

Helios does not guarantee that:

  • a user will be approved for a requested feature
  • approved status will continue indefinitely
  • a category will remain available
  • payout access will remain active
  • verification standards will remain unchanged

Helios may revise eligibility criteria, onboarding requirements, or category standards over time.

Conduct that affects verification or eligibility may also violate other Helios policies, including:

  • Terms of Service
  • Trust & Safety Policy
  • Marketplace Integrity & Anti-Fraud Policy
  • Restricted Activities & Prohibited Transactions Policy
  • Payments, Payouts, Refunds, and Transactions Policy
  • Seller, Expert, and Vendor Payout Terms
  • Privacy Policy
  • Enforcement, Appeals & Account Actions Policy

Helios may enforce multiple related policies together.

18. Review, Reconsideration, and Appeals

Where Helios allows reconsideration of an eligibility or verification decision, a user may submit a request for review in accordance with any process Helios makes available.

Helios may decline or close requests that are repetitive, unsupported, abusive, or lacking material new information where such information is necessary.

A reconsideration request does not guarantee approval, reinstatement, verified status, payout activation, or category access.

19. Policy Updates

Helios may update this Standard from time to time to reflect changes in law, payment-provider requirements, platform features, onboarding practices, industry risk, or operational needs.

When Helios updates this Standard, it will post the revised version on the Platform and update the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of an updated version constitutes acceptance of the revised Standard, except where additional notice or consent is required by law.
