Getting Started with Quick Tasks

Overview

What Is Quick Tasks?

Quick Tasks is Helios's board for small, focused, fast-turnaround projects. It works similarly to Gig Postings but is designed for simpler, lower-cost engagements: a safety review, a quick consultation, a short document write-up, or a targeted technical recommendation. Businesses post Quick Tasks with a defined scope and budget, and experts respond with applications or offerings. Quick Tasks are one of the best ways to earn, stay active, and build platform credibility between larger engagements.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Quick Tasks

  • Quick Tasks are one of the fastest ways to build your platform credibility. Completing them well establishes working relationships with businesses and creates a track record that makes future applications, for both Quick Tasks and Gigs, more competitive.
  • Only apply if you can genuinely deliver within the stated timeframe. Quick Tasks move fast, and missing a deadline is more visible here than on a longer engagement. If the timeline is tight, say so upfront rather than overpromising.
  • Read the Additional Files section carefully. Businesses attach reference materials for a reason. The more context you absorb before applying, the more specific and credible your application will be.
  • Use the Preferred Skills tags as a fit filter. If the tags align well with your Skills & Competence matrix, the business is specifically looking for someone like you. Your application will be stronger and more relevant.
  • Submit a Work Record promptly after completing the task. Timely submission signals professionalism, keeps the payment process on track, and leaves the business with a positive final impression.
